Micro Piles

Micro Piles

Micro piles are groted piles with a small diameter that transfer their loads into the subsoil via shaft friction. Main areas of application are e.g.: Foundations, underpinning and negative-buoyancy measurements. They are an important operating area of Grund- Pfahl und Sonderbau GmbH.

A typical characteristic of small-bore grouted piles is that they can transfer relatively high service loads into the foundation soil with a small drill diameter and that they can be manufactured in tight spatial conditions.

The so-called root pile is newly defined by Grund- Pfahl- und Sonderbau GmbH due to both the variety of uses it is put to and the variations in execution.

Our program has meanwhile been extended by further small-bore and grouted small-bore pile systems so that custom-designed solutions can be offered for numerous foundation methods used in building underpinnings, underpinnings, refurbishment of endangered foundations, distribution of secondary loads within existing buildings and new foundations, particularly with low work spaces.

Grouted small-bore piles can be used as single-rod bearing and tension pile with a breaking load of up to 4418 kN. Respectively higher loads can be carried via pile clusters consisting of up to three individual bearing members

The tried and tested SAS threaded rod systems of the steel mill Annahütte are used as support links. The hallmark of this system is the infinite screwable coarse thread with self-cleaning effect. This thread serves as a force-locked connection of anchor bolt and anchor nut, is used for the coupling of individual pile sections using threaded sleeves and the improvement of bonding effect with the circumjacent cement stone in the load transmission area. The profiling of the support links allows a precise determination and any extension of the pile projection in the pile head area using the approved connecting parts. If a corrosion protection is used according to the General Building Authority Approval, the composite pile may also be used as a tension pile for breaking loads of up to 4418 kN.

The pile’s construction also allows proper manufacturing of the pile at an installation height of ca. 2.0 m. When an additional grouting system is installed, a precise refurbishment of the soil in the load transmission area is possible through post grouting.
