Project description:
Construction of a 27 m deep excavation pit in steep hillside situation.

Geology / Hydrology:
Below a deep top soil was talus material and mudflow debris consisting of sand and gravel with varying silt content.

Technical Data:
3,300 metres discrete bore pile wall d = 90 cm – pile length up to 26 m length
15,000 metres max. 800 kN permanent / temporary anchor system VSL up to 37 m length
600 metres jet-grouting piles d= 1.70 m up to13 m length
2,800 m² soil-nail walls and shotcrete walls
120 metres triple-rod extensometer up to 40 m length

Special features:
The construction was a logistic challenge due to the small space available for the construction site and access routes to the different drill levels. Day and night shifts were employed to ensure the deadline of begin of season was met for the construction works.
